NBA players receive their overall ratings for the upcoming season, sometimes without prompting and sometimes upon request.  This always sparks debate about which players are overrated, which players are underrated, and which players are rated perfectly.

Starting with the obvious fact that those four players stand head and shoulders above the rest of the league, I'm pleased with how things turned out.  However, I'm not sure what to make of the fact that they all have a 96 rating. NBA 2K22: Best Shots - Post-Free-Throw Line Three-Point Line Mid-RangeNBA .

Obviously, I'm not advocating for anyone to be a 99 like LeBron, but I think it would have been nice if there had been a clear-cut No.  In and of itself, the race to see who can raise their rating the fastest will be entertaining.

What are your thoughts on their ratings from the standpoint of a much more seasoned gamer?

Your point that just because two players have the same rating does not imply that they have the same impact on a video game is a great one to consider.  Antetokounmpo and Durant would have been my picks for the 97s or even 98s, depending on the situation.  I believe Curry is a solid 96, and I have no objections to LeBron matching him in that regard.

From there, sorting through the next tier of players becomes nearly impossible.  At this point in the season, there is so much talent in the league that deciding who should be rated higher than the next person must be a difficult decision.

Is there anyone in particular from that next group of players who stands out to you as someone who you believe should have received a higher or lower rating?
