Runescape and Outriders aren't two games that players will consider playing together therefore, having the Runescape player addressing r/Outriders could be a shock. However, it led to OSRS Gold an engaging post and discussion with fans of both games. And it all comes down to one former Jagex worker: David Osborne, otherwise known to the Runescape community as Mod Osborne.
Osborne recently made it clear on LinkedIn that he was leaving Jagex after fifteen years of editing content along with narrative design and lead design. The move was a decision he took according to his own words, to "test [his] experience in the other industry." Osborne is leaving Jagex and moving straight to Square Enix on the publishing part, as a Senior Designer. He'll be in charge of "some fantastic games," beginning with Outriders.
The revelation prompted Redditor FatNWackyRS to reach out to users on r/Outriders to send a message about Mod Osborne, describing him as the "warm, friendly "Dad" face of Jagex." FatNWackyRS describes everything Mod Osborne has performed for the community through time, including several videos, including performing as Mod Elfborne to promote Prifddinas (an Elf City in Runescape) in livestreams, joining as well as assisting in the company's vision.
Although some communities or players might be angry about losing a prominent company image, FatNWackyRS invited other Runescape players to talk about their experiences. One user, for example, feels like they've won and lost when playing simultaneously in Runescape along with Outriders. Others were delighted by the news, and some even have never had a conversation with Osborne before, thanks to this enthusiastic endorsement from a member of the Runescape community.
It's true that what exactly will transpire on his portion of Outriders fence is yet to be seen, however the fans are aware of a number of good things are coming in the coming years to this game. Outriders' Worldslayer expansion is due to be released this spring . It's scheduled to release in 2015 and beyond. People Can Fly has a number of other projects underway, including a new game in Cheap RS Gold partnership with Square Enix. If Osborne will be involved with this, however, is yet to be determined.
