Wide receivers as a whole have continued to outperform RBs, and this week feels like it will be no different. There are a ton of studs with tremendous matchups, but we won't waste breath telling you to start them. However, there are opportunities for other wideouts on the same teams to outproduce their seasonal averages. Our Week 5 fantasy WR rankings will sort through all the matchups and project the pecking order. After a month of the regular season, stats like fantasy points against are ready to play a significant role in start 'em, sit 'em decisions.
DK Metcalf (vs. Rams) and Ja'Marr Chase (vs. Packers) should still be in your lineups, but it's worth noting they'll likely shadowed by Tavierre Thomas Jerseys Jalen Ramsey and Jaire Alexander, respectively. Last season, in two matchups with Ramsey, Metcalf caught just eight pa ses for 87 yards and had zero touchdowns. We bring up Ramsey every single week, but he can be that much of a factor. Of course, we've seen top receivers have good-to-great games against the Rams in each of the past three weeks, so obviously you shouldn't be too worried about someone like Metcalf. Alexander hasn't been as dominant this year so far, but he'll relish the chance to take on the rookie WR.
WEEK 5 PPR RANKINGS: | | | | |
Marvin Jones (@ Titans) and Laviska Shenault (@ Titans) have solid matchups this week, and the Jags will always have to attempt a lot of pa ses because of their terrible defense. Also, DJ Chark's broken ankle should mean more targets for that duo. Jakobi Meyers (@ Texans) and Nelson Agholor (@ Texans) have had decent amounts of succe s this year, and the Texans' secondary is susceptible to give up huge games to WRs. The Bills' duo of Emmanuel Sanders (@ Chiefs) and Cole Beasley (@ Chiefs) are top-level flex plays this week. We've seen enough to know the Chiefs defense can't stop a cold. This game will be one of the top targets for DFS lineups, too. Both quarterbacks could knock on the door Houston Texans Women Jersey of 60 pa sing attempts. Jaylen Waddle (@ Buccaneers), and DeVante Parker (@ Buccaneers) could be solid plays this week, too, especially if Will Fuller V (hand) is out. The Buccaneer's secondary is the only thing keeping the Bucs from dominating every game with ease.
WEEK 5 STANDARD RANKINGS: | | | |
Jamison Crowder (vs. Falcons) made his season debut last week and had a good game, and his matchup this week should yield another one. Kadarius Toney (@ Cowboys) could also be in position for a good game depending on the statuses of Darius Slayton and Sterling Shepard, who were both out last week because of hamstring injuries. Randall Cobb (@ Bengals) and Marquez Callaway and Deonte Harris (@ Washington) are also in play with decent matchups.
WEEK 5 DFS LINEUPS: | |
Diontae Johnson (vs. Broncos) and JuJu Smith-Schuster (vs. Broncos) are in tough spots this week. The Broncos have yet to face a potent air attack, so who knows how great they really are. However, the Steelers pa s offense led by Big Ben has been downright pitiful. Johnson will still warrant starting consideration, especially in PPR leagues, but don't be surprised if this is an unproductive day all around for that offense. Odell Beckham (@ Chargers) has looked decent after his return from a torn ACL, but the Chargers' secondary is one of the most loaded groups in the league. As usual, Cleveland's game plan will be to control the game on the ground if they can. Allen Robinson (@ Raiders) is also a worry given his slow start and Vegas's perhaps surprisingly solid defense.
MORE WEEK 5 DFS: | |
Curtis Samuel (vs. Saints) returned in Week 4, but the Saints defense looks like it's one of the top units in the league. Rashod Bateman (vs. Colts), Tre'Quan Smith (@ Washington), and T.Y. Hilton (@ Ravens) could be in line to play for the first time this season. Bateman and Tae Davis Jerseys Gallup are probably the two with the most appeal this week.

Fantasy WR Rankings Week 5: Who to start at wide receiver
Rankings based on standard, non-PPR scoring
RankPlayer1Stefon Diggs, BUF @ KC2Cooper Kupp, LAR @ SEA3Davante Adams, GB @ CIN4Tyreek Hill, KC vs. BUF5Adam Thielen, MIN vs. DET6DeAndre Hopkins, ARI vs. SF7Justin Jefferson, MIN vs. DET8Terry McLaurin, WAS vs. NO9D.J. Moore, CAR vs. PHI.We were worried Sam Darnold would hold back D.J. Moore, but obviously, the worry was not warranted. Over the last three weeks, he's averaged eight catches, 100-plus yards, and a touchdown. Philadelphia's defense has given up 40-plus points in its last two games, so here's another chance for Moore to go off.10A.J. Brown, TEN @ JAX.Brown (hamstring) and Julio Jones (leg) will likely be questionable heading into the matchup with Jacksonville, but either or both could be in store for monster games if they return. They've both been fantasy disappointments thus far, but this pa sing offense needs a huge boost. Jacksonville's defense has been one of the worst in the league, and the Titans would love to get the ball in the hands of their playmakers not named Derrick Henry Darius Anderson Jerseys -- who already has 127 touches this season.11Marquise Brown, BAL vs. IND.Brown has been one of the top breakout performers in all of fantasy football. He has caught a touchdown in three of four games and has been the deep-play threat Baltimore drafted him to be thus far. He's more attractive in standard leagues, but a nice a set in either format. We'll see if Rashod Bateman's (core) potential return will take targets way from Brown or open the field up even more for him. Heading into Week 4, Indianapolis was a bottom-eight defense against WR in fantasy.12Chris Godwin, TB vs. MIA.Mike Evans seems to have taken a spot above Godwin in target share, but we'll give Godwin one more chance to be the lead WR in TB for TB. After all, this situation is fluid. In the one-game sample, we saw without Gronk, Evans was targetted 12 times, while Godwin only saw five targets. However, we're giving Godwin the nod here because of his overall consistency prior to Week 5. If Evans proves to dominate targets again, we'll adjust moving forward. Miami's defense has not been near as good as we thought it could be, so wheels up Ka'imi Fairbairn Jerseys for Godwin, Evans, and Antonio Brown.13CeeDee Lamb, DAL vs. NYG.Lamb has only seen eight combined targets over the past two weeks, but unfortunately, this just sometimes happens when an offense has so many top-notch weapons. We like him to rebound against the Giants, as you'd think the Cowboys will be sure to get him more involved. We knew going in that he and Amari Cooper would flip-flop week-to-week and this feels like a Lamb week. Although both are must-starts at this point until further notice.14DK Metcalf, SEA vs. LAR.Metcalf is riding a two-game touchdown streak, but his ceiling will be limited by Jalen Ramsey Thursday Night. In two games against Ramsey last year, he only caught eight pa ses for 87 yards and zero touchdowns. When he's not lined up against Ramsey, he's usually inside the top ten, but he has to come down some given the matchup. For now, we like him more than Tyler Lockett based on the past two weeks, but there's certainly a world where Metcalf gets shut down and Lockett goes nuclear. Both are entirely too talented to sit.15Deebo Samuel, SF @ ARI.Brandon Aiyuk was back in the pit of misery in Week 4, and Samuel once again was the No. 1 WR in the offense. He caught eight pa ses for 156 yards and two touchdowns in another nuclear performance. Obviously, he and Trey Lance already have a decent connection, so this is promising moving forward. Arizona should score a lot of points, so expect a ton Phillip Dorsett II Jerseys of pa s attempts from Lance -- aka targets for Samuel.16Amari Cooper, DAL vs. NYG.See CeeDee Lamb.17Corey Davis, NYJ vs. ATL.Davis caught four-of-seven targets for 111 yards against the Titans in Week 4. While the Jets' offense should still be viewed as unimpre sive, they showed they can take advantage of good matchups in Week 4. They'll face another juicy matchup in London vs. Atlanta. Also, Jamison Crowder looks like he could have sneaky PPR value once again.18Mike Evans, TB vs. MIA.See Chris Godwin.19Ja'Marr Chase, CIN vs. GB.Chase served third-fiddle to C.J. Uzomah and Tyler Boyd in Tee Higgins' absence, but surely that's not going to be a pattern. Chase has an opportunity for a career day against a bad Packers' defense, although he could be shadowed by Jaire Alexander. That's not enough to scare us off of him though. He should be considered a must-start this week. Tyler Boyd and Tee Higgins (if active) are on the border of must-starts.20Courtland Sutton, DEN @ PIT.Sutton has been a dud in every game except one, and his fantasy prospects are getting concerning. In Week 4, he caught just three of eight targets for 47 yards. It's tough to know whether Teddy Bridgewater (concu sion) or Drew Lock would be more beneficial for him. Lock is more willing to take shots in contested coverage, but Bridgewater throws more accurate pa ses. Either way, his ceiling is still high and it's tough to
