Janet Otieno Biography Janet Otieno is a Kenyan Gospel Music Singer and Songwriter. She was born in Kisumu, Kenya, the second oldest of six siblings. She was raised in a Christian home and this upbringing became the foundation of her musical journey by making her realize the passion she had to serve God through music. Janet’s musical journey began by her joining the church choir, where she soon became the lead singer and guided the congregation through powerful praise and worship sessions with her magnificent voice. Most often after the Sunday church service, Janet would often retreat to the solitude of her home and there she would write her own songs. JANET OTIENO SONGS On May 2013, God brought Janet and Christina Shusho, a renowned Gospel artist from Tanzania, together and they recorded a song known as ‘Napokea Kwako’ which became a major hit in East and Central Africa. The song has currently garnered more than 2.4 Million views on YouTube and it became Janet’s launching pad in the Gospel industry. Such favor we can only say was all part of God’s divine plan.
