The club is based in the city of Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, United Kingdom and have an extensive supporter base. They have won one league title and are ranked in the top-tier of English football.

In 1992, Brian Clough became the manager of Nodingham Forest, bringing in striker Robert Rosario. However, the club struggled for a few years and they eventually lost their place in the top-tier of English football.

After Clough left the club, Frank Clark was appointed as a manager. He added Welsh striker Dean Saunders and Croatian defender Nikola Jerkan to the team for the 1996-97 season. The team started well but lost their way as they fought to avoid relegation.

Under his management, the team achieved a league record of 24 clean sheets and won a few games in the process. They were also able to reach the final of the League Cup.

Since then, the club have won the FA Cup twice in their history, and have finished in second place in the Football League four times. They have also won two European Cups, in 1988 and 1990.

During their heyday, Forest were the biggest and most successful club in their area. They also played in seven domestic cup finals during this period, winning five of them.

Their greatest ever player was winger John Robertson, who set up the winning goal in their 1979 European Cup win over Malmo and scored the winner a year later to beat Hamburg. He remains their most prolific goalscorer, with a total of 213 goals.

He is widely regarded as the club’s best ever player and holds a number of records, including being the first winger to score a hat-trick in a European Cup match. He also holds the club’s record appearance maker with 685 games.

Stuart Pearce has won the Player of the Year award three times, a record that he still holds today, and is joint with Des Walker. He was also named in the PFA Team of the Year for four successive seasons.

The only other players to have won the Player of the Year award multiple times are Kenny Burns, Nigel Clough, Andy Reid and Chris Cohen.

As a result of the team’s successes in recent years, Forest have been branded as a ‘forgotten giant’ and are one of only a few English teams to win the European Cup on more than one occasion.

Although they have been relegated from the Premier League for most of the 21st century, they are still a force to be reckoned with in English football. They are currently relegated to League One, but have the opportunity to return to the top-tier of English football next season with a play-off spot up for grabs.
