Philip Rivers has been retired for just over six months. But already, the former Chargers and Colts quarterback is starting to consider a comeback.

While Rivers acknowledged that he wasn't planning on returning to the field to start the season, he said that he is "going to stay ready" in case a team needs help at the quarterback Alec Morris Jersey spot.

"I'm not quite there," Rivers said of his conditioning to the . "I'm getting back there. I wouldn't have made weight if I had to report last Ha Ha Clinton-Dix Jersey week, that's for sure. But I am getting back into the lifting and running, and shoot, I occasionally throw a ball around out here in this heat. It's not too hard to get a good lather going.

"I'm just going to stay ready. I want to make sure I'm very clear: I'm not predicting I will play in December or January, for that matter. One, you've got to have somebody who wants DeAndrew White Jersey you, and two, it's got to be right.

The timing of Rivers' comments can't be ignored. The Colts just lost starting quarterbackCarson Wentz while he deals with a foot injury. Rivers started for Indianapolis last season and led the team to an 11-5 record while completing 68 percent of his pa ses for 4,169 yards, 24 touchdowns and 11 interceptions.

The Colts have four other quarterbacks on the roster including Josh Sharma Jersey Jacob Eason, Sam Ehlinger and Brett Hundley. However, only Hundley has experience throwing an NFL pa s.

So, could Rivers return to the Colts? As intriguing as Chad Henne Jersey the idea may be, it doesn't sound like Rivers is in shape to do so yet. Maybe the Colts will reach out to the 39-year-old veteran if their younger quarterbacks struggle in training camp and the preseason or if Wentz's rehab takes longer than anticipated.

For now though, Rivers is just keeping an open mind. No move appears imminent and the first-year coach atSt. Michael Catholic High Rudy Ford Jersey School in Alabama will focus on getting his team ready for the upcoming high school season.

Rivers has a 134-106 career record as a starter in 16 years playing for the Chargers and one playing for the Colts. He threwfor 63,440 yards, 421 touchdowns and 209 interceptions during his NFL career.
