Most brides probably imagine a super extravagant proposal before family and friends. Nick proposed in my experience in our Houston, TX apartment on Christmas Eve. It was only the two of us (not counting our dog and cat) also it was perfect and intimate. I found out later he planned to propose during our anniversary visit to Austin, but towards the amusement of everyone he’d told, he just couldn’t wait!
I checked out a TON of Pinterest boards but my biggest consideration was how I desired to FEEL on my small wedding day. I desired to feel soft, feminine, and delicate; something which was in direct contrast to my blunt, straightforward personality. I found myself gravitating towards the boho/rustic/garden vibe virtually from the start since our venue was mainly outdoors. I also LOVED the thought of mix-matched bridesmaid gowns because all my bridesmaids had different complexions and body types that I desired to highlight. The only thing I gave them was their assigned color and also the length, plus they ran by using it.
My family would be a large effect on the dress I choose! My mom, mother-in-law, and sisters were pretty honest using the choices I showed them. If I wasn’t glowing inside a dress, they’d say so. I loved the glitter on my small dress. It added a component that was missing inside a lot from the feeltimes dresses I tried on. The shimmer, the off-white (almost pink) color, and also the layers of the gown or short wedding dresses made the main difference between turning up and showing OUT. My husband’s uncle and grandma surprised us by driving down my husband’s grandfather’s car – a 1955 Chevrolet Belair they'd built and remodeled on their own – completely from Moscow, Pennsylvania. Not only had the vehicle matched the color scheme from the wedding perfectly, but additionally, it added a sentimental element for my husband’s family that wouldn’t have existed otherwise. That car got almost as much attention because of the wedding itself!
