A flowmeter is a tool to compute the volume or mass of a gas or liquid. The low cost flow meter is the turbine flowmeter, volumetric flowmeter, etc. It is attached between the master valve and the zone valves. It should be no water taps or uncontrolled water consumption on the downstream side of the flow meter to avoid false alarms.
