A famous NPC, Finkle Einhorn, has also seen a drastic alteration. The name originally used for the NPC was a blend of actors Ray Finkle and Lois Einhorn from the film Ace Ventura: Pet Detective The film has been criticised for being transphobic. The new name of the NPC is Pip Quickwit. Other items that reference the character's name have been changed. The change can be found on a WoTLK Classic Gold card involving the character too. Alongside the changes in the previous paragraph, a number of instances of dialogue that violates acceptance or explicit sexual references has been revised.

Finkle Einhorn has changed its name to Pip Quickwit, with the Lava Dredger renaming itself. If you don't know, Finkle Einhorn was a prank that targeted trans people from the movie Ace Ventura and honestly had no place in World of Warcraft .

It's only the latest round of changes that have occurred or are set to be made to Blizzard's enduring MMO. In the Public Test Realm build of the patch 9.1.5 has revealed the renaming of old achievements, the removal of emotes in the form of crude ones and much more. These changes will be added to WoW in the coming weeks when the patch launches and will include a range of requests from players.

The changes come in wake of multiple lawsuits and inquiries accusing Activision Blizzard of discrimination and harassment against women. Many Blizzard veterans include former Blizzard director J. Allen Brack, left the company over the allegations in the lawsuit. Blizzard recently explained its thought approach to the changes on its blog, stating that "goofy jokes and occasionally inappropriate innuendos that are mature are an integral part of cheap WoTLK Classic Gold and probably always will be" however, the developer will "remain cognizant of the fact that certain elements...are accessible to everyone."
